Buying ‘color’
over the internet, was never going to be easy – as your PC/Printer are
never going to produce identical results to ours or your neighbor's. The
one thing you can count on with Lip Ink lip color is that your own
personal chemical make-up will have no impact on the color as it may have
with your old fashioned lipsticks from the past.
Because Lip Inks are organic we find most of our clients are ladies who
wish to look as natural as possible and you just want to enhance your
natural lip color but you also want it to last all day!
More often than not we find that most of our new users will fall into one
of two categories – dictated by your eye color! Sounds simple doesn’t it –
but this is a color that you are happy to live with all day and it seems
your eye color dictates your skin tone on the whole. Although of course a
good tan can make a world of difference and many of us wear a fake tan
because of concerns about skin cancer.

Best results can be achieved by staying in the same Color Family.
Use pink with pink, red with red and warm tones with warm tones. Warm
Colors have yellow in them and Cool Colors have blue in them. If you favor
green, yellow green, yellow, orange and orange red and your cool colors
will be blue-green, blue, purple, violet and true red.
If your skin tone is more yellowish than pinkish, the "cool" side of the
Color Wheel is recommended which includes the blues, purples, aqua blues,
violet and maroons work best. If your skin has more pink, the "warm" side
of the color wheel which includes colors like greens, yellows, peach and
corals are recommended. There are always exceptions to the rule so be
willing to experiment until you find the colors that make you glow..
Color Intensity (high-intensity) mid range and (low intensity) Orange-red
is considered high, peach is considered mid to low range intensity. It is
highly recommended that you determine the color value when making your
decision of the right colors to wear. Color Intensity can be controlled
with our patented Lip Ink® layering process. We recommend the use of three
layers of Lip Ink® liquid Colors with each application. It is in this
layering process that you have the control of intensity. You can apply
just one layer of Lip Ink® color and use Lip Ink® Clear liquid lip color
for the the remaining 2 layers of color and control the Color Intensity.
Color Values refer to how light or dark a color. Think of white to
black and all the shades in between. Example, when we use our blotting
process" by taking an applicator saturated with Lip Ink® color and blot it
into a tissue to remove some of the liquid color" you can take a bright
red to a light pink. This is how you adjust your color value with Lip Ink®
liquid Colors.
Now that you understand color intensity and value,
you are ready to select color tones.

First select your ideal Color Intensity and
Color Value by holding the Color Wheel to your face.
If have dark hair with light skin you fit into High Contrast your
colors would include the (bright and deeper value darks) These colors
can be achieved using Lip Ink® Lemon lip color Toner.
Those with fair coloring fit into the Low Contrast and can wear softer
and more muted colors This can be achieved using our Lip Ink® Unisex
lip color toner.
