Rhode Island woman dies after cosmetic surgery abroad
Elizabeth Wright tells The Providence Journal that her sister, Jude
Jarvis, died four days after the surgery was performed on May ninth.
Wright says a local doctor in Rhode Island had told Jarvis that if
she wanted a breast reduction and tummy tuck, it would cost 20-thousand
dollars and she would have to get her weight down to 140 pounds.
Instead, Jarvis found a hospital in India willing to perform the procedures for four-thousand dollars.
Wright says doctors in India told her Jarvis died of a blood clot that traveled to her lungs.
It is unclear if that was related to her operation.
