Health sector guides imports on drugs and cosmetics
A ministry decision Tuesday stated drugs and cosmetics import
businesses - both domestic and foreign - to declare import prices and
expected retail prices.
It also asked importers to re-declare and explain pricing rationales.
Under the decision, drugs and cosmetics imported into the country must have expiry date of minimum 18 months.
Since drugs are considered a critical item, health authorities are
tightening their grip on the sector prices to prevent price hikes due
to artificial shortages and speculation.
