Eric Thoreux, President of Coty Beauty Americas, will deliver the
Keynote Address at HBA Health & Beauty America (www.hbaexpo.com)
taking place September 12-14, 2006 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention
Center in New York. His presentation, entitled "Brand Building
Innovations," will be on Tuesday, September 12, at 9:00 a.m. in the
Special Events Hall.
"The fast changing retail and media environment is forcing all
industries to rethink their pace of innovation, as well as re-assess
what innovation is in a world where consumers have more control than
ever. In my HBA address, I will use examples from the fragrance, color
and skincare categories to illustrate how brand building innovations
need to go beyond the product itself to push the envelope of
communication, distribution and get the attention of the consumer,"
said Mr. Thoreux.
His keynote will also provide attendees with insight into how
companies now need to look at the consumer differently and what it
means to product and brand development.
As president of
Coty Beauty Americas, Mr. Thoreux is responsible for consolidating all
of the Coty Beauty's North American, Canadian and Latin American
business. Coty Beauty is the mass-market division of Coty Inc., a
worldwide fragrance and cosmetics company with approximately $3 billion
in annual net sales worldwide. Coty's mass-market brands include
Adidas, Rimmel, Celine Dion, Mary-Kate and Ashley, The Healing Garden,
Calgon, Stetson, Shania Twain, Jóvan.
Prior to his appointment as President of Coty Beauty Americas, Mr.
Thoreux was the President of Coty Beauty North America. Since joining
Coty in 1994, Mr. Thoreux has held a number of key management positions
within the company's European operations. As General Manager, he led
Coty's German operations from 1995 to 1997, overseeing Austria and
Switzerland as well. He also held the position of Senior Vice
President, Strategic Development on a worldwide basis.
Before joining Coty, Mr. Thoreux held marketing and sales positions
in Paris and London at consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble. After
studying mathematics and physics, Mr. Thoreux received a business
degree in 1987 from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commercials de Paris,
