Amy Palma, SoBe Makeup Studio
Palma studied journalism at FIU and worked the fashion, beauty and
celebrity beat for 10 years as a producer for WSVN-Fox 7's Deco Drive
and then was an entertainment reporter for Telemundo. But she
discovered her true passion in 2001, when she traveled to New York to
produce a weeklong series on New York Fashion Week.
That's when she
realized she wanted to be a stylist -- not just report on them. She
beefed up her portfolio, and in June 2005 opened her own
''on-location'' company, providing makeup and hairstyling for events
such as weddings, network news remotes and video shoots. She's now
developing a cosmetics line appropriate for South Florida's climate.
