Groupe Clarins reports healthy 2005
French beauty manufacturer
Groupe Clarins' full year 2005 net profit managed to grow 11.2% (11.4%
like-for-like) to €96.7m despite promotional investments for its par
Amour and par Amour toujours (Clarins), Alien (Thierry Mugler), Silver
Black (Azzaro) and Miss Me (Stella Cadente) fragrances. The company
reported an on-year sales increased of 7.1% with full year 2005 sales
of €998.2m, just falling under the coveted €1bn mark. Groupe Clarins
says that it is once again ready to pursue potential acquisitions as it
has now paid down its debt. A spokesperson for the company tells
Cosmeticnews.com that such acquisitions will most likely be in the
beauty domain rather than in fragrance because the group is now working
on consolidating its existing fragrance brands.
